Applied research in social protection, child poverty, education, early childhood, employment, gender and care, and climate and disaster risk, designed not only to describe a problem but to help partners decide what to do next.​ We combine quantitative analysis of household survey, administrative and programme data with qualitative and participatory methods, so that the evidence reflects both the numbers and the lived experience of the people a policy is intended to reach.​ Findings are translated into costed, prioritised options that can be discussed directly with government counterparts and development partners.
